The Go-to Place for Crash Scene Research

Bookmark and Share
Fox Valley Technical College and Wisconsin State Troopers are advancing best practices in the collection and analysis of data extracted from vehicle crash scenes. The two entities have been using the state-of-the-art test-driving pad at FVTC’s J. J. Keller Transportation Center on the Appleton campus to emerge as nationwide research leaders.

Data from this effort has already been shared with industry experts from around the globe during the 2011 Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) World Congress in Detroit. The project is also aided by the use of the only crime scene laser scanner in the state, the Leica Geosystems ScanStation C10-3D Laser Scanner.

FVTC represents a rare disposition for a two year college; in addition to training for today’s careers and enhancing the competitive edge for area employers, it is now also a go-to research facility for potential answers on saving lives behind the wheel.
