Governor's Visit Highlights Police Training

Governor Scott Walker visited Fox Valley Technical College on Friday to pay tribute to the college’s Law Enforcement Recruit Academy graduates and to recognize three special award recipients as part of the 24-member graduating class.

During his visit, Governor Walker praised FVTC for its commitment to providing exceptional training in several areas of law enforcement and public safety. He cited FVTC as a specialized training leader in this field, and congratulated all the graduates for their dedication to keeping Wisconsin safe.

FVTC’s Law Enforcement Recruit Academy is specifically designed to prepare future law enforcement by providing them with all the training needed to meet Wisconsin certification requirements.

The three award recipients as part of the graduation ceremony are:

Officer Shawn Glasel, Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department: Craig A. Birkholz Memorial Award

Officer John Haase, Door County Sheriff’s Department, Todd J. Stamper Memorial Award

Jonathan Kressin, non-sworn recruit, Gerald W. Mork Memorial Award
