FVTC Students Win 16 State Awards at SkillsUSA Competitions

A record number of Fox Valley Technical College students won awards at this year’s Wisconsin SkillsUSA 40th annual conference, held in Wisconsin Dells.

FVTC students won 16 medals at the conference, including first-place honors in six categories.  The conference features skill-based competitions designed to build leadership competencies and showcase the talents of high school and college students. FVTC and Madison Area Technical College shared top honors in the state among higher education institutions with 16 total medals.

The following FVTC students represent the college’s list of winners in their respective categories:

First Place Gold Medals:

All gold medal winners will advance to the national SkillsUSA competitions, to be held in Kansas City on June 24-28.

In addition, Vicky Barke, director of Student Life at FVTC, earned the Technology Literacy Award from SkillsUSA for her efforts in organizing and conducting a leadership conference on careers and technology.
