Fox Valley Technical College, an industry leader in truck driver training, can provide the staff, equipment and expertise to train your employees for a driving career. Following are some examples of training we can provide:
- Industry Partnership Program
Your employees will receive 172 hours of classroom, lab, and on-the-road instruction while working toward a Class A Commercial Drivers License. They will also attend a one-day Decision Driving workshop.
Classes are four weeks long and start dates are every three weeks (based on the college calendar).
Students must:
- Be pre-qualified for employment by meeting all applicable Federal medical requirements
- Have a valid driver's license
- Have a Commercial Driver's License instruction permit for Class A vehicles
- Short-Term Driver Training
Short classes designed as refresher training in one or more areas of operation; shifting, backing, vehicle inspection, etc.
- Driver Evaluations
Pre-hire and post evaluations
- Third Party Testing
FVTC has a staff of six examiners who are certified to administer the CDL driving test. For those individuals who are unable to provide a vehicle for the test, FVTC can, in most instances, provide one.
- State Examiner and Third Party Examiner Training
A required 1-week long training program, designed by the state and delivered by FVTC staff for administering a commercial driver's license road test.
- Twin-Trailer Operations
A training session on twin trailer operation is offered for experienced tractor-trailer drivers. The course is designed to familiarize experienced drivers with the unique operational requirements for twin-trailers.
