History


Early Years
The first vocational and adult education system in the nation was established in Wisconsin in 1911, when state law allowed communities with populations of 5,000 or more to operate their own vocational schools.

  • 1912: FVTC began providing workforce development training
  • District established in 1967
  • Held two public referendums (1968 & 1998)
  • Third largest district in the state in student enrollment and equalized valuation
  • First accredited by the North Central Association, 1974; AQIP option admission, 2001; reaffirmation of accreditation, 2008-2009; next reaffirmation of accreditation, 2015-2016.

  • Serves approximately 45,000 people annually

Economic Development Services to Employers

  • Serves over 1,700 employers with contracted services annually
  • Trains more than 20,000 employees via contracted training
  • Generates $7.7 million in contracted training
  • Accounts for 22% of all contracted training revenue by Wisconsin technical colleges, nearly double that of any other technical college in the state

College Budget
