Understanding the technical side of repairs is a necessary skill for all appraisers. During this five-day hands-on seminar, students will set-up, measure, straighten and diagnose a damaged vehicle. This experience is necessary for estimators to make quality repair value decisions relating to structural direct and indirect damage. The seminar also provides hands-on alignment inspections, analysis and thoroughly explains, in basic terms, what an alignment report identifies to prevent paying for unneeded parts replacement. You will leave knowing what an alignment report really identifies with diagnostic secondary angles and make field comparison part checks to identify damaged steering and suspension components.
Prerequisite: "Introduction to Collision Damage Assessment Training" or the equivalent is recommended, but not required.
You Will Learn About and Understand:
-
Anchoring methods
-
Pulling techniques
-
Repair or replace structural guidelines
-
Sectioning procedures and accepted industry standards
-
Re-dimensioning
-
Straightening procedures and stress relieving
-
Welding
