Introduction to Motorcycle Experience

If you have never ridden a motorcycle, but have an interest in learning, Introduction to Motorcycle Experience is a good place to start. This class is a two-hour, first-touch experience with a motorcycle. It is not designed to teach actual riding skills, but to focus on learning a motorcycle's primary parts and controls. It will help you determine whether motorcycling is a good personal choice.

FVTC’s Introduction to Motorcycle Experience courses run from April to September. Open enrollment dates vary, please check back for additional dates if applicable.

  • You do not need a motorcycle instruction permit to take the class
  • Fox Valley Technical College provides the following for this training:
    • Motorcycles are 300cc or less; a variety of models are available. Scooters are 125-150cc
    • Helmets (bring your own helmet & gloves if you have them)
    • All books and materials

The motorcycle training season has ended for 2025. Check back in January for the 2026 offerings.
