Early Childhood Program Unites Creative Types

Early Childhood Program Unites Creative Types

Mar 29, 2017

Students, faculty, and alumni of Fox Valley Technical College’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) program teamed up with child development students from Appleton East, Appleton North, and Kimberly High Schools and their teachers for an evening of creative collaboration at Pinot’s Palette.

The event was inspired by the children’s book, Maybe Something Beautiful: How Art Transformed a Neighborhood, by F. Isabel Campoy and Theresa Howell with illustrations by Rafael Lopez. The true story captures how a neighborhood was transformed in San Diego through art. The ECE program at FVTC used the opportunity to bring high school and college students together with a shared interest in childhood development to capture artful impressions of their passion for kids. FVTC and the participating high schools also share dual credit partnerships in the study of early childhood education.

The finished works were donated to these area nonprofit organizations:

Harbor House
Homeless Connections
LEAVEN
Partnership Community Health Center
Riverview Gardens
Warming Shelter
