Milestone Donation for Automotive

| By: Britten, Casey

The Automotive program at Fox Valley Technical College received its 50th donated vehicle from General Motors (GM). GM’s donation of a white 2013 Camaro RS Convertible marks a significant milestone in its partnership with FVTC, which offers more automotive training programs than any other college in the state.

The vehicle features 323 horsepower, a 3.6 litre direct-injected V-6, a six speed automatic transmission with tap shift controls, Rally Sport package with upgraded wheels, cladding, and handling, including ABS traction control system and advanced stability control. Its estimated retail value is approximately $28,000. The Camaro is being used by students in several Automotive programs at FVTC to learn about the latest technology in today’s vehicles.

The GM/FVTC vehicle donation partnership spans about 15 years and counting.
