Why did you choose the Software Developer program?

I love being able to create something from nothing—that’s what drove me towards software development. Plus, technology advances at an exponential rate every year, and I want to be part of that technological growth.

What are you learning about your career field that you find interesting or rewarding?

I thrive on a challenge and enjoy being able to use my creativity and troubleshooting skills, which is why I find programming to be rewarding.

Why did you choose Fox Valley Technical College?

I took a very non-traditional route to get to Fox Valley Technical College, but am extremely happy with my decision. I initially had my eyes set on a four-year college, but since graduating high school a year early, I missed most application deadlines for my dream schools. Fox Valley Technical College provided a more realistic and affordable option. I was very tentative to go to a technical college, but I couldn’t be happier with my decision. In the first weeks of class, I immediately fell in love with the place and realized FVTC had been my dream school all along.

How did Fox Valley Technical College help you change your life?

Fox Valley Technical College provides me with the freedoms that high school didn't allow. It’s an environment where I feel I can be myself and don't have to be anybody but me.

What type of job do you expect to find after graduation?

I expect to find a job where I can be an object-oriented programmer, developer, or engineer where I work on teams to write code. I intend to find a job that allows for advancement in my career in knowledge and promotion. This would include a job that supports my pursuit of higher education by allowing me to go back to school while continuing to work.
