Home building opens a door to a new career for Appleton native Ryan Stiles.

Ryan Stiles wants a career with a solid future, so the 30-year-old Air Force veteran chose the FVTC Residential Building Construction (RBC) program.

“I decided on construction because of the financial possibilities in real estate,” says Stiles. “Learning how to build and fix houses is a great way to get into the industry.”

Students in the RBC program build and remodel real homes from start to finish. “I love how hands-on the program is,” he explains. “Doing something you’ve practiced both in class and on the work site sets you up for success.”

When Stiles graduates later this year, he plans to work in construction full-time and flip houses on the side. “With enough experience I hope to own a small construction company,” he notes.
