Governor’s Visit Highlights Training for Veterans

The Venture Center at Fox Valley Technical College continues to provide successful pathways to entrepreneurship for military veterans.

FVTC was the first college or university in Wisconsin to provide small business training for military veterans thanks to a grant from the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) in 2017. Since, through its Venture Center, 35 veterans have received training from the nationally-recognized E-Seed™ program. The continued success drew the attention of Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers, who visited the college on October 1 to commemorate another round of funding toward the initiative, Innovation Accelerator. SEE PHOTO GALLERY BELOW

Governor Evers joined officials from the DVA and college leaders to present more than $97,000 in state funding to help an additional 20 veterans work on their business model and plan. A free informational session on the next Innovation Accelerator training experience is set for Wednesday, October 23, from 5:30-7 p.m. at FVTC’s D.J. Bordini Center, 5 Systems Drive in Appleton. Register here >>
