| By: Britten, Casey

Fox Valley Technical College’s Veterans Resource Center has joined several community organizations to offer the second annual Connect to Courage event, a free one-day opportunity for the public to learn about issues pertaining to military veterans on Tuesday, March 20 from 11 a.m.-7:30 p.m. at FVTC’s Public Safety Training Center, W6400 County Road BB in Appleton.

Connect to Courage is designed to make the community part of helping veterans transition to civilian life. The event features resources from nearly 50 organizations for veterans, firefighters, police officers, and paramedics pertaining to the challenges they face each day. Guests can also participate in Question, Persuade and Refer, or QPR, training.

The keynote address will be provided by award-winning author David Chrisinger, whose book, See Me for Who I Am, has touched the lives of veterans. Other organizations providing primary support for the event include American Legion Post 38, Fox Valley Veterans Council, J. J. Keller Foundation, Fox River Lions, Greenville Lions, Veterans Mentor Group, and Multi-conveyor, LLC.

No registration is required to attend the event. For more information, call 920-735-4853, email connect2courage@gmail.com, or download event flyer (PDF)
