Passing exams required to obtain nursing license

| By: Daley-Hinkens, Carmelyn M

Nursing graduates taking the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) in 2021 continued to perform well. Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) students had a pass rate of 95%, well above the national pass rate of 83%.

The NCLEX is a standardized test that determines a graduate’s readiness to begin practice as a nurse. A passing grade is required for graduates to obtain a license to practice nursing. In 2021, 74 out of 78 FVTC graduates taking the test for the first time received a passing score.

Practical Nursing graduates who took the NCLEX also performed well with a 90% pass rate during this most recent testing period. Congratulations to nursing graduates for this achievement.
