Process Begins in Search for Next President

Apr 23, 2021

The Board of Trustees has announced a search is underway to select the next President of Fox Valley Technical College. The Board, along with the College, will conduct a comprehensive national search. The President is the chief executive officer of the College and reports to the nine-member Board of Trustees. The position is available due to the impending retirement of Dr. Susan May after serving 13 years as President.

Once applications are received, a Presidential Search Committee will review them, select and interview semifinalists, and identify final candidates. Those selected will visit the College for tours, participate in public forums, meet with direct reports, and interview with the full Board of Trustees. It is expected a new President will be selected at the end of June with a targeted start date of August 1.

"The Board of Trustees is dedicated to ensuring the execution of a strong recruiting process that will attract a diverse pool of candidates at a statewide and national level," said Board of Trustees Chair Patty Van Ryzin. "We are utilizing a search committee made up of internal stakeholders representing faculty, staff and students at the college, external community partners, and board representation.

"We have completed a targeted survey asking for broad stakeholder input to insure that our recruiting criteria attracts candidates who will have the ability to take our college successfully into the future."

A presidential search webpage has been created to provide additional information. It will continue to be updated with information on all aspects of the search, both for the community and candidates.
