Spring 2023 Semester Starts Strong

It may not look or feel like spring but Fox Valley Technical College is excited to welcome students back to campus for the start of the spring semester. And, we’re starting off strong with encouraging enrollment numbers and the debut of several new programs.

Year over year, Fox Valley Tech is seeing another increase in the number of full-time equivalents (FTE) with a 1.4% increase from spring 2022. For context, every 30 credits enrolled in an academic year equals one FTE.

Although numbers do fluctuate in the first few weeks of the semester, the college is starting with a 4% increase in online enrollments over spring 2022 and a 3% increase in the number of class sections being offered to students.

Programs like Massage Therapy, Esthetician, Medical Coding, and all Automotive programs are starting off the semester at or near full capacity and the college may add more sections for students in these areas. In addition, FVTC offers many classes with a mid-semester start.

Several new programs are making their debut with the start of the semester. The Associate of Arts – University Transfer and the Associate of Science – University Transfer will allow students to complete their general education requirements at FVTC and then transfer with junior standing to a four-year partnership school, including UW Oshkosh, UW Green Bay and Lakeland University.

This month, the college is excited to launch Career EXCELerate. The partnership with Goodwill NCW and Rawhide Youth Services will provide education to individuals who have faced economic hardships and mental health challenges. Our first cohorts begin in Early Childhood, Healthcare, Manufacturing and Transportation begin this month. Career EXCELerate is tuition-free for eligible participants.
