State Superintendent-elect Dr. Jill Underly visited Fox Valley Technical College as part of a four-stop tour of Northeast Wisconsin educational institutions.
Starting at FVTC, Dr. Underly was given a tour of the Health Simulation Technology Center. Carrie Thompson, associate dean of Health Science, lead the tour.
Dr. Underly was briefed about the different Nursing programs offered at FVTC and learned more about the state-of-the-art technology FVTC nursing students use as part of their hands-on training.
She also was briefed about the nursing students’ efforts to help at COVID-19 vaccination clinics in the community.
Dr. Underly was elected in April as the next state superintendent. She will lead the Department of Public Instruction, which is responsible for the supervision and direction of Wisconsin’s public schools. She takes office July 5.
