The Fox Valley Technical College Venture Center is a sponsor and host of Startup Appleton Week, in addition to undertaking a training role in the localized initiative of Wisconsin Startup Week as declared by Governor Walker during November 5-11.
Startup Week is an opportunity to shine light on the impact small businesses have on economic development locally and throughout the nation. In Wisconsin, a number of workshops and related activities are taking place this week that provide opportunities to develop entrepreneurs and startup ecosystems by way of innovative programming, partnerships, and networking.
At FVTC, Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Dan Zimmerman will present another round of funding to help the state’s only formal training program that supports the small business aspirations of military veterans who have returned from duty. Based on success of last year’s pilot program, the Venture Center continues to attract veterans seeking knowledge in owning and operating their own businesses. The Venture Center uses its nationally-recognized E-Seed® curriculum as part of the training experience for veterans.
