ARFF Certification and Annual Refresher Training

ARFF courses range from the 40-hour airport firefighter, Driver/Operator certification to FAA live burn recertification. Whether seeking a beginning course or advanced ARFF firefighter training, the ATW ARFF Training Center has the right course for you.

ARFF Certification courses are accepted by the FAA and meet the training requirements for FAR Part 139.319. The ATW ARFF Training Center is accredited by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC). Accreditation guarantees the certification programs were reviewed by fire service professionals to meet national and international standards. Prior IFSAC certification is not required to attend classes.

  • Airport Firefighter

    Hours: 40.00 | Estimated Cost: $1,450.00

    Covers rules and regulations, airport certification, aircraft and airport familiarization, ARFF safety, ARFF apparatus, PPE, rescue and firefighting procedures, tactical operations, hazardous materials, incident command, airfield communications, extinguishing agents, ARFF tools and equipment, and airport emergency plans to meet NFPA 1003 standards for a Professional Airport Firefighter.

  • Driver/Operator ARFF

    Hours: 40.00 | Estimated Cost: $1,450.00

    Introduces students to the skills and knowledge required for certification to Driver/Operator - ARFF as described in Chapter 9 of NFPA 1002. The course will train crews in the deployment and operation of an ARFF truck and use of HRET.

  • FAR 139 Basic Recertification Burn

    Hours: 4.00 | Estimated Cost: $450.00

    Students attending this course will complete training to meet all training requirements for annual live fire training (FAR 139.319). This course is designed to ensure all FAA requirements are met, while also providing a variety of fires and challenges to prepare Airport Firefighters for real world scenarios.
