Critical incidents such as hostage rescue, civilian rescue, or officer down rescues, are highly stressful and dynamic situations that often are trained exclusively with specialized tactical units. Most of these situations originate and are handled at the patrol level but not addressed at in-service training. Discusses rescue techniques, movement, and decision making during critical incidents based on the resources and equipment available to individuals. Hands on training with exercises and low-level scenarios providing the opportunity to deploy the techniques taught.
