Learn English

The primary goal of Fox Valley Technical College is student success. To be successful and safe in occupational programs, students must meet the minimum requirements for English language proficiency (high intermediate at minimum, with advanced level preferred). Students who do not meet these requirements are encouraged to work on their English language proficiency.

There are two options designed to meet the needs of adults whose native language is not English. Courses focus on reading, writing, speaking and career skills.

English Language Learning (ELL) - Basic Skills classes are for Wisconsin residents only. If you have never taken English classes or are at a basic English level, this is the place to start. These non-credit classes will help you improve your English language skills, including career advancement and life skills vocabulary, and will help you prepare for the GED/HSED. The pace is slower and you'll progress on a weekly schedule. Classes are free for Wisconsin residents.
