777 Arrives at ARFF Training Facility

Oct 17, 2019

The first piece of a one-of-a-kind Boeing 777 has arrived from Ohio to the new ATW Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) Training Facility in Appleton.

Five additional pieces will be coming in November. Each piece delivered requires two police escorts and up to three additional escort vehicles.

ARFF training is a specialized category of firefighting involving airport ground emergencies. The new center, which is scheduled to open in spring 2020, will provide multiple hands-on training scenarios. Any scenario encountered on an airfield can be re-created and tailored to produce the most realistic training available.
