Adult Basic Education (ABE) instructor Laurie Jarvis earned Teacher of the Year honors on behalf of the Correctional Education Association (CEA) for Region Three.

The annual award recognizes outstanding educational contributions by a teacher in a correctional facility. In addition to teaching ABE at FVTC’s new Wautoma Regional Center, Jarvis teaches at the Waushara County Jail and provides instructional leadership for faculty working at other correctional sites in Winnebago, Waupaca, and Outagamie Counties. Jarvis will be officially recognized for her achievement at the International CEA Conference in Detroit this summer.

CEA Region Three consists of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, Ohio, and Wisconsin. The organization is a non-profit, professional education association that works with other educational entities to provide instruction in jails, juvenile detention centers, juvenile and adult state institutions, and federal prisons.
