Drug Screen Requirement

Some students may need to complete a drug screen before participating in clinical experiences. Drug screening requirements vary by program and clinical site.

Drug Screen Required:

  • Associate Degree Nursing (ADN)
  • ADN Part-Time
  • Medical Assistant
  • Medical Laboratory Technician
  • Neurodiagnostic Technology
  • Practical Nursing
  • Substance Use Disorder Counseling
  • Surgical Technology

Drug Screen Required Only If Requested by Clinical Site:

  • Health Information Technology
  • Nurse Refresher
  • Occupational Therapy Assistant

Drug Screen Not Required:

  • Dental Assisting
  • Dental Hygiene

When Will I Complete My Drug Screen?

Once a drug screen package is purchased, instructions are sent through the clinical documentation management system. Complete your screening as soon as possible to avoid delays.

Important Reminders

Deadlines are mandatory: Failure to complete required drug screening by the deadline will result in removal from all health program classes.

Allow enough time for processing: Drug screen results are not always available right away. In some cases, additional review may be needed, which can take up to two weeks.

Drug Screen Fee: $46 (non-refundable)

Drug Screen Results

Students must obtain a negative drug screen result to be eligible for clinical placement.
