Student Testimonial

"I was involved in a car accident that left me unable to work and struggling to make ends meet for my family. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't find a job after I was healed and found myself with a $500 shortfall in rent for the upcoming month.

The grant allowed me to avoid eviction and ensure me and my family had a roof over our heads, as it gave me exactly the $500 that I needed for my rent.

I am forever grateful to seeds of hope for their assistance and for teaching me the importance of seeking help when needed. My experience has shown me that even in our darkest moments, there is always hope and help available. Grant Details

Eligibility Criteria
  • Must be an actively enrolled student in an eligible program of study
  • Must submit part one of the Financial Challenges Application, meet with a Student Resource Navigator, and provide all Seeds of Hope-specific application data.

 

Eligible Expenses

The Seeds of Hope Grant is designed to assist students with financial hardships that could become a barrier to the student continuing their education. This may include: 

  • Housing    
  • Utilities
  • Emergency transportation or vehicle repairs
  • Healthcare
  • Childcare
  • Essential family needs
  • Other urgent expenses considered on a case-by-case basis
Process

After a student completes the Financial Challenges form, their information will be sent to the Student Resource Navigators for initial review. The student will then meet with a Student Resource Navigator to discuss their financial needs, learn about any relevant community resources, and complete the Seeds of Hope application for committee review. The student will receive an email confirming whether their application was approved or denied.
