    *Presenter:*  David Schott, MS, CSP, OSHA
    *Description:* In this session, we will discuss OSHA’s lockout/tagout (LOTO) standard and performing risk assessments on your facility’s equipment.

    **9:45 - 10:45am: An Introduction to Confined Spaces Entry/Rescue**
    *Presenter:* James Lange, FVTC 
    *Description:* Participants will learn the procedures for entering a permit required confined space. We will discuss the requirements set forth by OSHA to maintain compliance with the confined space entry program. We will discuss the different types of confined space rescue.

    **11:00am - 12:00pm: The Fundamentals of Fall Protection**
    *Presenter:* Patrick Harel, 3M
    *Description:* This presentation will address standards related to working at heights in the various industries. The program will focus on the personal fall arrest systems (PFAs), harness, connector, anchor and rescue, and touch on FPFT, Dropped objects also known as Fall Protection for Tools. Each category will emphasize the proper selection, use and inspection of the system. Suspension trauma will be addressed and the need for a proper on site rescue plan importance. We will also discuss and explain the new ANSI-ASSP Z359.14-2021 Regulation and how it affects you.

    **12:45 - 1:45pm: A Review of Hazard Communication and Chemical Spill Response Awareness**
    *Presenter:* Brett Losey, FVTC 
    *Description:* 	Hazardous chemicals are in use at many commercial and industrial facilities. This session will focus on some of the training requirements for hazard communication and where many companies may need to focus their efforts to improve employee knowledge on this topic.

    **2:00 - 3:00pm: Preparing for the Unexpected - Emergency Response in Industry**
    *Presenter:* James Lange, FVTC 
    *Description:* Regardless of the how much companies try to avoid them, incidents do happen. How a company initially responds has a direct impact on the long term effects. This session will cover common emergencies within this area of the state, the role of emergency response teams, and OSHA requirements for emergency preparedness.

    **Patrick Harel**, QSSP, 3M Senior Fall Protection Specialist
    
    Patrick was born and raised in Durban South Africa and has lived in the United States for the past 23 years. He became a US citizen in 2010 and joined the Capital Safety Team in February 2013 as the Territory Manager for Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula, and continued in this role when 3M purchased DBI Sala and Protecta in 2015. He was previously a Safety Specialist for 6 years in the Green Bay area. When he first arrived in the US he was a rough carpenter, moved on to become a state certified welder, programed CNC machines, ran a tool crib eventually starting his career in the safety industry as a safety manager in the Sheboygan Area.

    **James Lange**, FVTC Department Chair - Safety Engineering/Construction Safety Technology
    
    James Lange is the Department Chair for the Safety Engineering Technology and Construction Safety Technology programs. He has over 20 years of safety experience in construction and manufacturing industries. He holds a MS in Occupational Safety from Southeast Oklahoma State University, holds the Certified Safety Professional credential, and is a Wisconsin State Fire Instructor III.

    Brett Losey has been an instructor at FVTC for over 8 years. He works with many companies in various industries within the Fox Valley area safety and regulatory training, as well as training industrial first responders on Emergency Response Teams.

    **David Schott**, MS, CSP, OSHA Assistant Area Director
    
    David Schott is the Assistant Area Director in the Appleton OSHA Office. He has been in that role for 9 years now, working with OSHA for 13 years, and working in Occupational Safety for 18 years. David received his Master’s Degree in Occupational Safety and Health and Environmental Management in 2010 and earned his CSP designation in 2015.
