Emergency Vehicle Technician Certification (EVTCC)

*Emergency Vehicle Technician* (EVT) training helps municipalities improve the reliability and safety of their emergency vehicles and provides technicians with a valuable credential that reflects mastery-level skill and knowledge. Bring EVT training to your municipality to get the education, training and experience your technicians need for the service and repair of emergency vehicles.
Training is offered through a joint FVTC/Pierce Manufacturing partnership in collaboration with the Emergency Vehicle Technician Certification Commission (EVTCC). Completion of the certification workshops prepare technicians for the EVTCC exam and helps them understand the general design, performance and testing standards for pumper apparatus, per NFPA 1901 and 1911.
The **EVTCC certification workshops** offered through Fox Valley Technical College include:
* F-3 Fire Pumps and Accessories
* F-4 Fire Apparatus Electrical & E-2 Ambulance Electrical Systems
* F-5 Aerial Maintenance

    **F-3 Fire Pumps & Accessories**
    This workshop prepares the technician for the EVTCC exam and to understand the general design, performance and testing standards for pumper apparatus, per NFPA 1901 and 1911. You will learn about the hydraulic principles of water movement in pumping operations; the terms that relate to the basic hydraulic principles used in the fire service; the mechanical principles of pumps, pump controls, and accessories; the operation of a fire pump and related accessories during pumping operations, the periodic preventive maintenance required for fire pumps, pump controls and pump accessories, the procedures necessary to overhaul a fire pump; and the procedures of performing a pump service test.
    The workshops includes 24 hours of instruction, plus evening study. Participants will be expected to complete practice tests. Technicians are urged to obtain and study the reference material prior to attending the workshop.
