As the founding Partner and President, Steve has been advising individuals, corporations, foundations and endowments since 1986.  Steve has experience in managing trusts, endowments, and foundations as well as corporate, church, individual and 401(K) plans with a customized approach.  In his past roles as Regional Manager of multiple trust offices for a large US-based bank, as well as Chief Investment Officer for two regional accounting firms, Steve’s experience has taught him to emphasize personal attention with each client.

Steve’s primary role within Copper Harbor Investment Advisors, LLC is as President & Chief Investment Officer, where Steve leverages his long experience in customizing portfolios for individual clients and families.  The key parameters Steve uses in building portfolios comes from the extensive research he performs on each investment option chosen for a particular client-including length of manager tenure, internal management fees, as well as ensuring the investment team behind the fund has remained consistent to their internal investment objectives.

Steve is a Certified Financial Planner, as well as holds an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.  Steve takes annual courses to maintain his proficiency in financial planning, estate planning as well as recent changes to personal taxes.  Steve is married to his wife Mary with two children.  Kelly a school teacher and Ben a doctoral candidate at Columbia University.  Steve enjoys anything mechanical, music, the Northwoods, history, travel, automobiles and investing.

In addition to his professional work, Steve is also involved in various community organizations.  Oshkosh Area United Way (Investment Committee); and Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, Inc. (Past Chair-Board of Directors, Current Member Investment Committee).
