Earn & Learn Program

Advanced manufacturing skills are in high demand. The Earn and Learn program is a new initiative to connect high school students interested in advanced manufacturing with a local business to work part-time while attending college part-time. 

Information for High School Students & Instructors

The Earn & Learn program is perfect for students who have enrolled and/or completed a dual credit manufacturing course (including Electro-Mechanical, Engineering Technologies, Machine Tool, or Welding courses). 

The Earn & Learn program connects students with local manufacturers who will: 

  • Pay for your FVTC education
  • Provide you with part-time employment while you're in college 
  • Offer you a full-time job after you earn a college credential

Information for Employers

Build your talent pipeline! With the Earn & Learn program you will be connected with motivated graduating seniors who have successfully completed advanced manufacturing classes, already earned FVTC credit and have been referred by their high school instructors. 

Employer Participation

  • Offer a part-time position to the high school graduate, the summer after graduation
  • Pay for tuition and books for the FVTC credential
  • Allow new hire to be a part-time college student and part-time employee while taking courses at FVTC 
  • Assign a mentor from your organization to work with the new employee 
  • Attend the Draft Day celebration in May at Lambeau Field
