Placement Assessment Scores

Placement assessments help determine your starting point for program courses. If your scores indicate an adequate skill level, you'll be ready to begin your courses. If your scores are below the cut-off, we can help you build your skills to be successful in your program.

Learn more about placement assessment scores and the conversion for various assessments by viewing the documents listed under Assessment Score Requirements below.

High School students may submit their ACT scores to FVTC. If those scores do not meet the General Education/Program score requirements, students may take the ACCUPLACER test once at their high school. If those scores still do not meet the minimum score requirements, the student may retest once at any FVTC location. Or, if the student  prefers, he/she may take it twice at any FVTC campus instead of taking it at the high school. There is no cost for ACCUPLACER testing at high school locations. Testing at FVTC is $15 per test.
