In the Fox Valley area, maintenance mechanics, millwrights, and pipefitters play a vital role in industries such as papermaking, metalworking, and manufacturing. These skilled professionals keep industrial operations running smoothly by installing, repairing, and maintaining heavy machinery and pressure piping systems. They also plan layouts for new equipment, construct or repair machine parts, and ensure safe, efficient operations.
This apprenticeship provides hands-on experience with machine tool equipment, hand and power tools, and essential skills in power transmission, rigging and lifting, hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, alignment, vibration analysis, welding, and soldering. You’ll learn to move, assemble, align, and troubleshoot complex machinery and piping systems.
The program combines six years of paid, on-the-job training with related classroom instruction, preparing graduates to meet industry demand for highly skilled maintenance and pipefitting professionals.
