Dropping A Class

When you register for classes at FVTC, you are responsible for paying tuition and fees — even if you don’t attend. Each class has a limited number of seats and registering reserves your spot.

Financial Impact

FVTC follows the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) policy when adjusting charges if you drop a class. Here’s how it works for classes with program and material fees: 

When You Drop How Much You Owe
Before the first day of class - 0% 0% (100% refund)
First day of class - 10% 20% (80% refund)
More than 10% and up to 20% of class 40% (60% refund)
More than 20% of class No charges will be adjusted

How to Drop a Class

You can drop a class in your MyFVTC account or by contacting Registration at 920-735-5645 or registration@fvtc.edu. 

Your charges will update overnight after you change your enrollment.

Refunds

If you already paid for the class, and are eligible for a refund, FVTC processes refunds three times per week. 

The fastest way to get your refund is by signing up for direct deposit. Signing up for direct deposit of refunds will allow funds to be deposited directly to your account.  

Direct deposit can take just a few days and paper checks will take a week to process.

Receiving Financial Aid and/or Veteran Benefits?

Dropping a class could impact your financial aid and Veteran Education Benefits. You might lose some of your funding and may even have to repay part of it. Always check before making schedule changes.
