The health, safety, and well-being of our students and staff are top priorities at Fox Valley Technical College. Through a multi-disciplinary team, the College is monitoring the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
At this time there are no suspected or reported cases in our college community. According to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, the risk of illness and transmission remains low for the state of Wisconsin. We ask our student body and employees to exercise proactive hygiene practices and to be aware of the spread of the virus. Here are a few things to do regularly:
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a disposable tissue
- Wash your hands regularly
- Avoid touching your face
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick
- Talk to your doctor about receiving the flu vaccination
- Stay home if you are ill
Please contact your personal physician or visit a local ER if you are feeling flu-like symptoms. If an employee tests positive for the coronavirus, he or she should notify the College’s Human Resources department at 920-735-2575 and stay home until cleared of the condition by a doctor.
Students who have contracted the virus should follow the same protocol by staying home. They should also report their illness to Student Services at 920-735-5795.
You all play an important role in helping manage the threat of the coronavirus. It’s also critical to remember to not respond to fear while news about the virus can sometimes create added anxiety. We will keep you updated on any further developments concerning this health matter.
