Love being around kids? This degree program provides you with skills specific to developing and supervising young children. You’ll learn about child development, relationships, behavior and diversity. You’ll also learn how to create curriculum and give children positive guidance. Gain skills in observation and assessment, health, safety and nutrition--everything you need to play a role in a variety of early childhood education settings. Throughout the program, you will apply what you’re learning in an actual child care setting. Your career in early childhood education is just a hop, skip and jump away.

Admissions Requirements

Skills Assessment

An academic skills assessment is required for admission into this program; learn more at; or provide official 4-year college transcript indicating proof of graduation to waive your academic skills assessment to the general education level; If you scored 165 or higher on your GED tests we will waive your scores to the general education level.

Credit Transfer Options

Whether you’re an incoming student, transferring to another two-year college or pursuing your bachelor’s degree, we make it easy for you to seamlessly transfer your credits. With full accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission, we offer credit transfer agreements with more than 65 two-and four-year colleges.

Many students come to Fox Valley Tech with credits they’ve already earned, either while in high school or at other colleges and universities. It’s also possible to be granted credit for career-related knowledge and skills you’ve already mastered.

Is a four-year degree in your future? Save time and money by starting here. You can earn your associate degree at Fox Valley Tech, then apply your credits toward a bachelor’s degree. Or easily transfer your credits to other two-year colleges.

Additional Information
Your program requires successful completion of a Criminal Background Check through the Department of Justice and the WI Department of Children and Families prior to placement in ECE: Practicum 1; information will be provided upon enrollment into Practicum 1; verification that you have no criminal offense that prohibits you from working in an early childhood related profession is also required.
Prior to placement in ECE: Practicum 1 or completion of Advanced Standing credit for Practicum 1, you must complete a physical exam; Information will be provided upon enrollment in Practicum 1.
